New York City-native Christine Chu has been designing since she can remember. As a child, she made clothing for her fashion dolls, drew comics, doodled her way into adulthood and eventually found the joys of jewelry making.
Her inspirations come from her love of bygone eras, vintage clothing, eccentrics, women who wear red lipstick, old ladies, urban style, architecture, nature, city living, black squirrels running through City Hall Park, Anna Karina, Brigette Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Barbara Stanwyck. She has been guilty of watching movies just for the fashions.
Her jewelry is both simple and delicate, as well as, edgy and eccentric...to fit all of her moods. Girlio jewelry is fun and pretty without feeling too "precious".
She lives in a world where pine cones and chicken bones litter the sidewalks and coexist peacefully.
Girlio is a fun and free-spirited line of jewelry that is lovingly designed and handmade. Unique beads and findings are sourced to give her jewelry a vintage feel.
Girlio jewelry has previously been sold on Ebay.
